I just released two weird little projects this year.
First was Note This Tune (www.notethistune.com). You drop in a MIDI file or audio recording and it spits out piano sheet music. The notes play back with highlighting so you can follow along. It's free and runs in your browser.
I built it for piano students and people trying to figure out songs by ear. MIDI files work perfectly. Audio files work okay if it's just one instrument. If you upload a full band mix, the results get messy. Pitch detection is really hard.
Then I made Price Whoa (www.pricewhoa.com). It's a dumb game where you guess prices of ridiculous products. You'll see something like a giant inflatable flamingo and guess $12. The answer is $149. The game will roast you for it.
People keep texting me screenshots of their worst guesses. That's been fun.
