About Elderhood Senior Alliance
Creating a community of Elders for mutual support
The Elderhood Senior Alliance is an informal social franchise established to create a community of Elders united in wisdom, compassion and service.
Elderhood in the context of this project has three distinct meanings:
1. It is a blend of the words “elder” and “neighborhood”. A community of Elders supporting one another. A community where we become each other’s connection and purpose.
2. It is an aspirational role, or state of being, in which a person views the problems of life with a clear, unflinching eye and responds in a mature manner with reason, wisdom and compassion.
3. It describes a group of people with an associative relationship bound by their common role or mission, similar to brotherhood (or sisterhood), knighthood or priesthood.
The Elderhood Senior Alliance is proud to be the organizer of various community events to support Elders. We are part of a growing death and aging positive movement coming together in our community. We promote end of life awareness through multiple monthly in person Death Cafes and Elderhood Roundtables and events such as Death Care and Life Transitions Expo, Aging Well - Community, Connection and Purpose and others in the area.
Glenn Harper is the primary volunteer worker behind the website, social media and event planning. Your support helps to fuel his body and power the work in the community.
