Just met with my herbalist to work on rebuilding and recovering after ridiculous respiratory illness. Herbalists need herbalists too, and working with an herbalist to tailor supports for your health goals specific to your needs/preferences and your body is good stuff.
My customized goals for the next two weeks:
Daily 32 ounce infusion of calendula, marshmallow leaf, plantain, fennel seed and licorice root
Daily 32 ounces of fun hydrating stuff-hibisicus infused coconut water mixed with bubbly water
Collagen in my morning coffee drink and/or evening golden milk
Two cups of bone broth infused with codonopsis and astragalus, plus spices/herbs to taste daily for hydration and digestive system support
8-9 hours of sleep every night, setting an alarm for 1 hour before bedtime to prompt pre-sleep routine
Herbal steams with rosemary and chamomile for respiratory health and hydration
Milk thistle capsules daily to support liver health
Working some light resistance training in as tolerated to support muscle and bone health in rebuilding immune support
Daily D3 and K2 supplement
Blue vervain tincture before meals as a digestive bitter
Elecampane tincture several times per day to support my lungs
Will I "check all the boxes" every single day? Probably not, and that's ok. These are just strategies to support my goal of rebuilding and repairing my digestive tract, respiratory and immune health. It's so much more than just throwing some herbs down your throat; we're working on sleep, movement, and stress management too!
Take care of your health. You're worth it!
