August Online Community Meetup - August 8th, 2026 (4pm)

Come and hang out with me and other 8-string players!

Time: 4pm PDT

This is a casual meetup that can take the form of discussion, Q&A, group lesson, or just hanging out. So feel free to bring any questions you would like answered, techniques you're working on, or general thoughts you've been having about music or the guitar. Your ideas are valued here! I always do my best to bring something cool to teach as well.

You do not need to own an 8-string guitar to join the hangout, but beware, the topic of the conversations will likely centre around the 8-string.

After signing up, you will receive the Google Meet link for the date. I will also send it out as a reminder before we meet.

I make guitar lessons and resources to help you learn 8-string guitar!

My name is Thomas and I am a Vancouver based composer and musician with a Bachelor's in Music (Jazz Guitar) and a Master's in Music Composition. For the last 15 years, I have been passionate about education and sharing knowledge with as many people as I can.

Eight Metal Strings is my way to share my 8-String guitar teachings with as few barriers as possible. This means that there will rarely be a paywall in front of information I feel is essential to learning.

I'm so excited to help create and share these resources for this relatively new instrument so that you all can start shredding and teaching me a thing or two!
