On social media and perhaps on the msm in the US- the word is out that the US and Israel will be/may be resuming the bombing of Iran. Of course almost nobody is talking about the environmental consequences. From burning oil facilities and toxic air pollution to contaminated water, devastated ecosystems, and the terrifying risks of attacks on nuclear installations, another war could unleash an environmental catastrophe across the Middle East.
And what about the climate crisis? War produces enormous greenhouse gas emissions while destroying the very resources people need to survive on a warming planet. The warlords don't care.
How do we even cope with all this from afar? Together, I guess.
Is it a diversion from the midterms? Netanyahu's election?
