Writing goals for 2024

Writing goals for 2024

Apr 12, 2024

I'm using this post to update my writing goals for the year.

I should have done this at the very beginning of the year but one thing came up after the other and now, it's April. Still, better late than never.

My goals for the year can be grouped into 3 categories.

  1. Writing

  2. Social media

  3. Personal goals

WRITING

I plan to write 3 full-length novels this year.

(Bear in mind that these are all working titles)

  1. Codename: Song Bird

  2. Summertime at the Catholic Orphanage

  3. Unrequited Hate

I have begun work on all of these novels but they are in vastly different stages of writing. I'll post updates on them as I go.

I also plan to write a whole lot of short stories. I initially planned to write a short story every week but I am not too optimistic about that. For now, I'll try to write a short story every two weeks and we'll see how it goes.

SOCIAL MEDIA

This one is a no-brainer. I have to be more active on social media. Promoting your work as an author on social media is quite difficult as most social media platforms are visual-oriented.

It's hard for authors to show the quality of their work on such platforms but I'll try. (My habit of ghosting social media for days and weeks also makes things harder...lol). I plan to be more active on Pinterest, Insta and TikTok, and maybe even continue my Twitch streaming.

Give me a follow if you're seeing this.

PERSONAL GOALS

I also have some personal goals that I want to meet this year that are not directly related to writing.

Some of them include exercising more often, regulating my sleep pattern (very hard, as inspiration to write often comes at night for me), being less of an introvert (this probably won't happen) and being a better pharmacist.

WILL I SUCCEED?

I hope so. I have planned my actions out and I hope to build consistency as the year goes by.

I feel like even if I don't hit all of my goals, I'll meet most of them. And for any goal I didn't reach, I will hopefully have a good reason why.

I'll keep updating this site as the year goes by.

Happy writing!
