Today, I launched the very first version of dawn to members on the waitlist.
I've been using it myself for a few months now, and I think it's finally ready to share. Here's what you can expect right now:
Library. Add books to your library to track their status.
Search. Find books to add to your Library, powered by OpenLibrary.
Read. Link your dawn account to your Google Drive, upload your ebooks (epub only), and read right from the app.
Annotate. Reading in dawn already has highlighting with five colors to organize your thoughts.
Reflect. Talk to dawn, your AI personal librarian, in real-time while you read. Ask questions, posit theories, and think more deeply, all without worrying about spoilers.
Review & Rate. When you're done reading, rate the book and leave your thoughts. Rating system based on 2ToRamble.
Everywhere. dawn is a web app, so you can install it to your phone through your favorite browser or just use it on you laptop right on the web. You always have access to your books.
For now, dawn is completely free. I fund more development myself and through donations here on BMC. If you like dawn or just want to support the project, consider buying me a coffee 😉
Of course, this is just v1. dawn will get better and smarter over time. It's still in limited access, so if you want to try it out, join the waitlist and tag me on X, @dylanmeade.
