Hello!

We are David and Macin, a pair of complete opposites who met at Case Western Reserve University in 2018 and started dating in early 2020.

When COVID-19 first hit the U.S. around that time, we went home to separate states. To help with the boredom of quarantine and isolation, Macin sent David a care package... with his first ever film camera! This sparked his love for analog photography, which has now grown way beyond anything either of us had expected.

He's now shot dozens of rolls of film with a variety of cameras, most of them fixer-uppers from Goodwill and eBay. As an engineer, he especially likes learning more about the technical side of things. When David's skills started getting more advanced, Macin encouraged him to start a little business out of it. He liked the idea, but couldn't do it alone!

Macin, with her English major brain and big imagination, completed the picture. Together, we are now working on the logistics of offering portrait sessions for new grads and others in our community, with Macin taking the lead on bookings, social media, website creation, and anything else that requires a right-brained person, and David handling the technical/financial side of things. We plan to attend these shoots together, each one of us contributing something to make the experience go smoothly (for example, Macin is good at posing people, while David is best at adjusting the camera settings). David is also in the process of setting up a shop where people can order prints of his other photos (like the landscape in our header image)!

All in all, the combination of our interests and skills make up what we're calling D&M Photography (mainly to avoid being confused with the famous photographer David Suh, lol). Overall, we are so thankful to anyone who believes in our little vision and helps us to make it come true. Your support allows us to build something really amazing together!

P.S. In case you were wondering what kind of coffee we're into, David loves a good shaken espresso with oat milk, and Macin loves anything that tastes like sugar.
