Hi there,
I’m Dr. Sapirstein, and if you’ve made it to this page, you probably know that I’ve been sharing fan edits, restorations and film preservations online since 2005. As 2025 marks the 20th year of these projects, I’m still passionate about restoring, preserving, and reimagining iconic media, offering fresh takes, extended or alternate cuts on films and stories that mean so much to geeks like myself. Every project I work on is a labor of love, combining creativity, technical skills, and (most often) a deep respect for the original material.
Creating these fan edits takes a lot of time, energy, and resources. I invest in acquiring rare film and outtakes via various media (most recently 35mm reels, used for some exciting upcoming releases), as well as paying for high-quality software, hardware, and, of course, the time I put into each project to make sure the final product is the best it can be. These costs add up quickly, and your support is crucial in making these projects happen.
With the 20th anniversary approaching, your contribution will help fund rare materials, production costs, and ensure the highest quality work possible, and will help in finishing some major and rather exciting 35mm restorations currently in progress... (hint, hint). Every donation, no matter the size, makes a direct impact on these projects.
By supporting my work, you’re helping to fuel this creativity and ensure that more projects can be made and shared for free online, just as they’ve been for the last 20 years. Even if you’re not in a position to donate, sharing my work with others and spreading the word is also a huge help.
Thank you so much for considering supporting this journey. Whether you donate, share, just enjoy the content, or write a nice email, it means a lot to me. With your help, I can continue bringing new, exciting content to the community and keep the spirit of fandom alive.
Sincerely,
Dr. Sapirstein.
