When God Speaks - MOVE!
Hearing God Means Nothing If You Refuse to Obey What He Said
There comes a point when you have to stop praying about what God has already told you to do.
Some believers keep asking God for confirmation when the real issue is not confusion, it is obedience.
God said go - and you are still standing there.
God said stop - and you are still doing it.
God said forgive - and you are still holding the offense.
God said leave it - and you keep returning to it.
God said step out - and you are still waiting until you feel comfortable.
Jesus said in Luke 6:46 AMPC “Why do you call Me, Lord, Lord, and do not [practice] what I tell you?”
That scripture should make every believer examine themselves.
Calling Jesus Lord while knowingly refusing His instruction is a contradiction, Lordship demands surrender.
And scripture makes God's position on obedience unmistakably clear, in 1 Samuel 15:22 AMPC God said, “Samuel said, Has the Lord as great a delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.”
“TO OBEY IS BETTER THAN SACRIFICE!”
God is not impressed by what you offer Him while knowingly withholding the obedience that He requested from you.
You can attend church, sing, shout, preach, teach, give, serve, post scriptures, and tell everybody how much you love Jesus, and still be resisting the very thing God told YOU to do.
When the Holy Spirit has convicted you, stop disguising disobedience as “discernment.” Stop calling rebellion “waiting on God.” Stop asking for another sign because you do not like the instruction that He already gave you.
REPENT!
Repentance is not merely feeling guilty because you ignored God, repentance means turning! It means agreeing with God concerning your disobedience, asking His forgiveness, and changing your direction.
Not convinced? Look at James 1:22 AMPC “But be doers of the Word [obey the message], and not merely listeners to it, betraying yourselves [into deception by reasoning contrary to the Truth].”
That warning is terrifying, you can hear enough Word to become religious while refusing to obey enough Word to become transformed.
Do not let another sermon, another devotional, another worship service, or another Sunday convince you that hearing God is the same as obeying God.
If God has exposed your disobedience today, repent today!
If He told you to stop - STOP!
If He told you to forgive - FORGIVE!
If He told you to surrender it - SURRENDER IT!
If He told you to move - MOVE!
Do not ask God to bless what He told you to abandon.
Do not ask Him to approve what He told you to repent from.
Do not substitute religious activity for obedience.
And do not keep saying “Lord, Lord” while deliberately refusing the authority that comes with calling Him LORD!
Question For Today
What has God already told you to repent of, stop, surrender, forgive, or obey? And are you genuinely waiting on God, or is God waiting on YOU to finally REPENT, OBEY, AND MOVE?
