What Is Satanic? Anything That Makes God the Question

If It Questions God’s Character, His Word, His Power, His Authority, His Love, or His Intent Toward the Redeemed, Recognize the Voice Behind the Question

Beloved, when many Christians hear the word satanic, they immediately think of witchcraft, demons, occult symbols, rituals, or open worship of Satan.

Those things certainly qualify, however Satan does not always enter the conversation announcing himself as Satan.

Sometimes he simply introduces a question about God.

That is exactly how the serpent approached Eve.

Genesis 3:1 (AMPC) “NOW THE serpent was more subtle and crafty than any living creature of the field which the Lord God had made. And he [Satan] said to the woman, Can it really be that God has said, You shall not eat from every tree of the garden?”

Look carefully.

The attack began with: “Can it really be that God has said...?”

Before there was disobedience, there was an attempt to create doubt about God.

Satan questioned God’s Word.

Then he questioned God’s truthfulness.

Then he questioned God’s intent.

Then he suggested God was withholding something desirable from them.

The strategy has not changed.

WHAT IS SATANIC?

Anything that attempts to persuade you that God is not Who He says He is.

Anything that tells you God cannot do what He said He can do.

Anything that suggests God will not fulfill what He promised.

Anything that causes you to question whether God truly loves you.

Anything that tells the redeemed that Christ’s finished work was somehow insufficient.

Anything that contradicts the authority Christ has given His Body.

Anything that tells you God’s intentions toward His redeemed children are anything other than what God Himself has declared.

Whether it arrives through a demon, a preacher, a theologian, a friend, a family member, social media, religious tradition, your circumstances, or your own thoughts, if it contradicts God, its source must be challenged.

Numbers 23:19 (AMPC) “God is not a man, that He should tell or act a lie, neither the son of man, that He should feel repentance or compunction [for what He has promised]. Has He said and shall He not do it? Or has He spoken and shall He not make it good?”

He has said it, so stop allowing circumstances to cross-examine God!

Your circumstances do not have authority to redefine His character.

Your feelings do not have authority to rewrite His promises.

Your experience does not have authority to reduce His power.

Your disappointment does not have authority to question His love.

And religious tradition does not have authority to cancel what God has spoken concerning those redeemed through Christ!

Romans 8:32 (AMPC) “He who did not withhold or spare [even] His own Son but gave Him up for us all, will He not also with Him freely and graciously give us all [other] things?”

God already demonstrated His intentions toward you at the Cross!

When Satan whispers, “Does God really love you?”

Point him toward Calvary.

When he whispers, “Will God really provide?”

Answer with scripture.

When he whispers, “Do you really have authority in Christ?”

Answer with scripture.

When he whispers, “Did God really mean what He promised?”

Recognize the oldest question in Satan’s playbook:

“Has God really said?”

2 Corinthians 1:20 (AMPC) “For as many as are the promises of God, they all find their Yes [answer] in Him [Christ]. For this reason we also utter the Amen (so be it) to God through Him [in His Person and by His agency] to the glory of God.”

Beloved, stop entertaining questions that God has already answered!

Stop allowing the enemy to place God on trial every time your circumstances become uncomfortable.

Stop calling unbelief “being realistic.”

Stop calling doubt “wisdom.”

Stop calling contradiction “another perspective.”

When God has clearly spoken, His Word settles the matter.

The redeemed of Christ must become mature enough to recognize Satan even when he does not arrive looking satanic.

Sometimes the serpent does not say, “Reject God.”

Sometimes he merely whispers, “Are you sure God meant that?”

And if you entertain that question long enough, the enemy has already moved the conversation exactly where he wanted it.

Question For Today

If Satan’s oldest strategy is to make you question what God said, His character, His promises, His power, His authority, His love, and His intentions toward you, how many thoughts, teachings, conversations, and “realistic” conclusions have you been entertaining that should have been immediately recognized, rejected, and answered with, GOD HAS ALREADY SPOKEN?

If You Have Ears To Hear, Then Hear It!

I pray for you each and every day.

All God's Best!
