Stop Trying to Walk in Darkness While Claiming to Follow the Light
Jesus Did Not Call You to Admire the Light, He Called You to Follow The Light, Him!
Jesus did not merely say He could show you the light. Jesus declared that HE IS THE LIGHT!
John 8:12 (AMPC) “Once more Jesus addressed the crowd. He said, I am the Light of the world. He who follows Me will not be walking in the dark, but will have the Light which is Life.”
That scripture leaves no room for comfortable Christianity.
Jesus connects following Him with walking in light. You cannot continually choose darkness, defend darkness, entertain darkness, practice darkness, and then casually claim that you are following the One who IS THE LIGHT!
Notice Jesus said, “He who follows Me.”
Not the person who merely talks about Him. Not the person who occasionally or even regularly attends church. Not the person who posts scriptures. Not the person who knows Christian language. Not even the person who simply believes that Jesus exists.
The one who FOLLOWS HIM!
Following Jesus means His Light will expose what darkness allows you to hide, secret sin, pride, unforgiveness, lust, selfishness, dishonesty, bitterness, compromise, and rebellion.
And when His Light exposes your sin, REPENT!
Do not explain it. Do not justify it. Do not rename it. Do not blame somebody else for it. Do not compare your sin to someone else's sin. Do not confuse feeling guilty with actually repenting.
CONFESS IT - TURN FROM IT - RUN TO CHRIST!
The Light did not expose your darkness so you could become comfortable seeing it more clearly. The Light exposed it so you could bring it before Christ, repent, and come out of it!
Stop asking Jesus to illuminate your path while refusing to leave the darkness He already exposed.
If Christ has shown you something in your life that is contrary to His Word, your next move is not negotiation, YOUR NEXT, AND ONLY RIGHTEOUS MOVE IS REPENTANCE!
Question For Today
What sin has the Light of Christ already exposed in you that you keep confessing with your mouth, yet refusing to truly turn away from with your life?
REPENT! AND FOLLOW THE LIGHT!
