Stop Trying to Make God Think Like You
You May Have the Wrong Thought However You Do Not Have to Obey It!
Beloved, God never asked us to understand everything before we obey Him!
Isaiah 55:6-9 (AMPC) “Seek, inquire for, and require the Lord while He may be found [claiming Him by necessity and by right]; call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way and the unrighteous man his thoughts; and let him return to the Lord, and He will have love, pity, and mercy for him, and to our God, for He will multiply to him His abundant pardon. For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, says the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.”
And understand this, you WILL have thoughts that do not agree with God. Wrong thoughts may enter your mind. Fear may speak. Lust may speak. Anger may speak. Pride may speak. Doubt may speak. Your flesh may suggest something completely contrary to God's Word.
Having the thought does not mean you have to HEED the thought!
Scripture commands us in 2 Corinthians 10:5 (AMPC) “[Inasmuch as we] refute arguments and theories and reasonings and every proud and lofty thing that sets itself up against the [true] knowledge of God; and we lead every thought and purpose away captive into the obedience of Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One).”
TAKE IT CAPTIVE!
Stop allowing every thought that enters your mind to become an instruction you follow. Every thought does not deserve your agreement! Every feeling does not deserve your obedience!
Isaiah says, “Let the wicked forsake his way and the unrighteous man his thoughts.”
So when your thinking contradicts God, your thinking is what must surrender, not God's Word!
SEEK HIM! CALL UPON HIM! FORSAKE YOUR WAY! TAKE WRONG THOUGHTS CAPTIVE! RETURN TO THE LORD!
God's thoughts are higher, God's ways are higher. And when your mind tells you something contrary to what God has spoken, believe GOD over yourself!
Question For Today
When a thought enters your mind that contradicts God's Word, are you taking it captive and making it obey Christ,or are you allowing it to take YOU captive and determine how you live?
