Stop Chasing Positions - Get Into Position

The Body of Christ Does Not Need More People Fighting for Titles, It Needs Believers Positioned for Christ

Introduction

In the Dominion Short, “Stop Chasing Positions - Get Into Position,” I said something to the Body of Christ that may have stepped on some toes:

Stop chasing positions and get yourselves into position...for Christ!

That short was intentionally sharp. This Study Version is going deeper because there is something happening throughout portions of the Body of Christ that desperately needs to be confronted.

There are people chasing positions who have never allowed God to properly position them.

There are people seeking titles who have not developed the character necessary to carry the responsibility that comes with those titles.

There are people who want pulpits before they have developed prayer lives.

They want microphones before they have learned submission.

They want platforms before they have learned servanthood.

They want followers before they have learned how to follow Christ.

They want authority before they have demonstrated obedience.

They want recognition before they have developed spiritual maturity.

They want everybody to know their name while their lives are doing very little to make the Name of Jesus Christ known!

BODY OF CHRIST, SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THAT!

And this teaching is not an attack on titles.

Scripture clearly recognizes offices, leadership, elders, pastors, teachers, evangelists, overseers, and other functions within the Body.

The issue is not having a position, the issue is chasing one.

There is an enormous difference.

God may call you to leadership.

God may appoint you to an office.

God may increase your influence.

God may give you a platform.

God may place you before thousands.

God may also position you in a place where almost nobody knows your name.

Either way, your assignment is obedience.

Somewhere along the way, portions of modern Christianity have confused visibility with significance.

We have confused platform with purpose.

We have confused title with calling.

We have confused followers with fruit.

We have confused recognition by people with approval from God.

And I need somebody to hear this:

YOU CAN HAVE A POSITION IN THE CHURCH AND STILL BE OUT OF POSITION WITH CHRIST!

You can sit in the front row and be spiritually out of position.

You can stand behind the pulpit and be spiritually out of position.

You can wear the robe and be spiritually out of position.

You can carry the title and be spiritually out of position.

You can have thousands of social-media followers and be spiritually out of position.

You can have people introducing you with five titles before your name and six credentials after it and still be completely out of position with God.

The question is not merely, “What position do you hold?”

The question is, “ARE YOU WHERE CHRIST TOLD YOU TO BE, DOING WHAT CHRIST TOLD YOU TO DO, THE WAY CHRIST TOLD YOU TO DO IT?”

That is Kingdom position.

Now Let’s Eat Some Meat!

Mark 10:42-45 (AMPC) “But Jesus called them to [Him] and said to them, You know that those who are recognized as governing and are supposed to rule the Gentiles (the nations) lord it over them [ruling with absolute power, holding them in subjection], and their great men exercise authority and dominion over them. But this is not to be so among you; instead, whoever desires to be great among you must be your servant, And whoever wishes to be most important and first in rank among you must be slave of all. For even the Son of Man came not to have service rendered to Him, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for (instead of) many.”

Jesus' teaching in Mark 10:42–45 completely overturns the world's definition of greatness. He contrasts rulers who dominate others with Kingdom leadership, where greatness is expressed through service. Christ then presents Himself as the supreme example, the Son of Man came to serve and give His life for others.

This scripture destroys the idea that Kingdom position exists primarily for personal elevation.

Jesus did not teach, “Become great so everybody can serve you.”

He taught greatness through servanthood.

Think about that.

The King of kings came serving.

The Lord of lords washed feet.

The One through Whom all things were created humbled Himself.

The One Who possessed all authority did not spend His earthly ministry demanding that everybody acknowledge His rank.

And some of us cannot handle being left off a church program?

Some cannot handle somebody else being asked to preach.

Some cannot handle another ministry receiving recognition.

Some cannot handle somebody younger being promoted.

Some cannot handle sitting somewhere other than the front.

Some cannot handle serving without being publicly thanked.

WHAT HAVE WE TURNED KINGDOM SERVICE INTO?

If Jesus could kneel with a towel, why are we fighting over chairs?

If Jesus could wash feet, why are we fighting over titles?

If Jesus could make Himself of no reputation, why are we obsessed with building ours?

There is nothing wrong with God elevating you.

There is something terribly wrong when elevation becomes your motivation.

The Context of This Teaching

Mark 10 becomes even more convicting when we examine what led Jesus to make this statement.

James and John approached Jesus seeking prominent positions in His glory. They wanted places beside Him. They were following Jesus, yet ambition had entered the conversation.

Think about that carefully. They were close to Jesus, they had witnessed miracles, they had heard His teaching, they had been personally chosen, and they were still vulnerable to the temptation of position.

That should warn every one of us.

Being in ministry does not make you immune from ambition.

Knowing scripture does not make you immune from ambition.

Being anointed does not make you immune from ambition.

Having served God for decades does not make you immune from ambition.

There must be continual examination of the heart.

Why do I want this?

Why do I want the position?

Why do I want the title?

Why do I want the platform?

Why do I want the church?

Why do I want the invitation?

Why do I want the recognition?

Why does it bother me when somebody else gets the opportunity?

Why am I upset when my name is not mentioned?

Why do I feel diminished when somebody else is celebrated?

Sometimes what we call “wanting God to use me” is actually wanting people to notice me.

Those are not the same thing!

Jesus responded to His disciples by redefining greatness itself.

Kingdom greatness is not climbing over people.

Kingdom greatness is serving people.

Kingdom greatness is not being seen.

Kingdom greatness is being obedient.

Kingdom greatness is not everybody knowing your name.

Kingdom greatness is your name being known in Heaven.

Position Versus Positioning

We need to distinguish two things.

A position is something you can receive from people.

Positioning is something God does in you and with you.

People can give you a title, they cannot give you an anointing.

People can appoint you to an office, they cannot manufacture God's calling.

People can put you behind a pulpit, they cannot make God speak through you.

People can give you followers, they cannot produce spiritual fruit through you.

People can print “Pastor,” “Bishop,” “Apostle,” “Prophet,” “Evangelist,” “Reverend,” “Overseer,” “Deacon,” or even “Doctor” in front of your name.

They cannot force Heaven to recognize what Earth has merely printed.

And let me take this one step further, A TITLE DOES NOT CREATE A CALLING, HOWEVER A CALLING MAY EVENTUALLY REQUIRE A TITLE TO DESCRIBE ITS FUNCTION.

Do not get those backward.

When the title becomes more important than the function, something has gone wrong.

When being called Pastor becomes more important than actually shepherding people, something has gone wrong.

When being called Prophet becomes more important than accurately representing God, something has gone wrong.

When being called Apostle becomes more important than sacrificially advancing Christ's Kingdom, something has gone wrong.

When being called Minister becomes more important than actually ministering, something has gone wrong.

THE TITLE IS NOT THE MINISTRY!

And here is another uncomfortable truth, SOMETIMES GOD WILL POSITION YOU IN OBSCURITY BEFORE HE TRUSTS YOU WITH VISIBILITY.

Why?

Because obscurity reveals whether you love Christ or applause.

Will you serve when nobody claps?

Will you pray when nobody knows?

Will you give when nobody announces it?

Will you help when nobody posts your picture?

Will you study when there is no sermon scheduled?

Will you remain faithful when somebody else receives the opportunity you thought belonged to you?

That is where motives get exposed.

Relevance to Today's Believers

This teaching may be even more necessary today because we live in the age of personal branding.

Platforms can be built overnight.

Followers can be counted.

Views can be measured.

Likes can be tracked.

Influence can be displayed publicly.

Even ministry can become a competition if we are not careful.

Who has the largest church?

Who has the biggest conference?

Who has the most followers?

Who gets invited where?

Who sits with whom?

Who knows whom?

Who has the largest platform?

Who gets the title?

And somewhere in all of that noise, Jesus is still saying, SERVE OTHERS BY SERVING ME.

Some believers are building brands when Christ told them to build disciples.

Some are trying to become famous when Christ told them to become faithful.

Some are developing their image while neglecting their character.

Some are networking upward while failing to minister downward.

Some are trying to get into rooms with important people when God has placed hurting people right in front of them.

STOP CHASING ROOMS GOD DID NOT SEND YOU INTO!

If God wants you in the room, He knows where you are.

If God wants you on the platform, He knows your address.

If God wants your voice heard, He knows how to amplify it.

If God wants to elevate you, He does not need your manipulation to accomplish it.

Your responsibility is to remain faithful where He has placed you.

Supporting Scriptures

1 Corinthians 12:18 (AMPC) “But as it is, God has placed and arranged the limbs and organs in the body, each [particular one] of them, just as He wished and saw fit and with the best adaptation.”

This scripture says that God places and arranges the members of the Body according to His own will.

Who does the placing? GOD.

That settles an enormous amount of unnecessary competition.

You do not have to become somebody else.

You do not have to covet somebody else's assignment.

You do not have to compete with somebody else's ministry.

You do not have to duplicate somebody else's calling.

God arranged the Body.

A foot does not become insignificant because it is not a hand.

An ear does not become insignificant because it is not an eye.

Your value does not come from occupying somebody else's position.

Your effectiveness comes from faithfully functioning in your God-appointed position.

Stop asking, “Why am I not where they are?”

Start asking, “Am I where GOD wants me?”

Because being successful in somebody else's assignment can still be failure if you abandoned yours to get there.

Philippians 2:3-8 (AMPC) “ Do nothing from factional motives [through contentiousness, strife, selfishness, or for unworthy ends] or prompted by conceit and empty arrogance. Instead, in the true spirit of humility (lowliness of mind) let each regard the others as better than and superior to himself [thinking more highly of one another than you do of yourselves]. Let each of you esteem and look upon and be concerned for not [merely] his own interests, but also each for the interests of others. Let this same attitude and purpose and[humble] mind be in you which was in Christ Jesus: [Let Him be your example in humility:] Who, although being essentially one with God and in the form of God [possessing the fullness of the attributes which make God God], did not think this equality with God was a thing to be eagerly grasped or retained, But stripped Himself [of all privileges and rightful dignity], so as to assume the guise of a servant (slave), in that He became like men and was born a human being. And after He had appeared in human form, He abased and humbled Himself [still further] and carried His obedience to the extreme of death, even the death of the cross!”

Paul commands believers to reject selfish ambition and conceit, to value others, and then points directly to Christ's humility and obedience as our model.

This scripture takes a hammer to selfish ambition.

Christ possessed every legitimate right to glory, honor, authority, and worship.

Yet He humbled Himself. That means humility is not weakness, humility is strength submitted to God.

Jesus did not need to prove Who He was.

And when you know who you are in Christ, you do not have to spend your life convincing everybody else that you matter.

INSECURITY NEEDS TITLES TO FEEL IMPORTANT. IDENTITY IN CHRIST NEEDS ONLY OBEDIENCE.

That one may hurt.

Well Let it.

If losing your title destroys your identity, your identity may have become attached to something Christ never intended to define you.

Before you are Pastor, Apostle, Prophet, Bishop, Reverend, Elder, Teacher, Evangelist, Deacon, Trustee, Worship Leader, Ministry Founder, or anything else, YOU ARE A SERVANT OF JESUS CHRIST.

Never become too important to remember that.

Luke 14:7-11 (AMPC) “Now He told a parable to those who were invited, [when] He noticed how they were selecting the places of honor, saying to them, When you are invited by anyone to a marriage feast, do not recline on the chief seat [in the place of honor], lest a more distinguished person than you has been invited by him,  And he who invited both of you will come to you and say, Let this man have the place [you have taken]. Then, with humiliation and a guilty sense of impropriety, you will begin to take the lowest place. But when you are invited, go and recline in the lowest place, so that when your host comes in, he may say to you, Friend, go up higher! Then you will be honored in the presence of all who sit [at table] with you. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled (ranked below others who are honored or rewarded), and he who humbles himself (keeps a modest opinion of himself and behaves accordingly) will be exalted (elevated in rank).”

Jesus teaches His hearers not to seize the places of highest honor. Instead, He calls them toward humility, concluding that self-exaltation leads toward humiliation while humility leaves exaltation in God's hands.

Stop grabbing the best seat.

Stop trying to force recognition.

Stop announcing your importance.

Stop positioning yourself where God has not positioned you.

There is something spiritually dangerous about constantly needing to be seen as important.

Jesus teaches us another way, Take the lower place and let God determine whether you should be brought higher.

That requires confidence in God.

If God wants you elevated, nobody can permanently keep you down.

And if God has not called you upward yet, forcing yourself upward can place you somewhere your character cannot sustain you.

Sometimes what you call being overlooked is actually God protecting you from premature elevation.

1 Peter 5:5-6 (AMPC) "Likewise, you who are younger andof lesser rank, be subject to the elders (the ministers and spiritual guides of the church)–[giving them due respect and yielding to their counsel]. Clothe (apron) yourselves, all of you, with humility [as the garb of a servant, so that its covering cannot possibly be stripped from you, with freedom from pride and arrogance] toward one another. For God sets Himself against the proud (the insolent, the overbearing, the disdainful, the presumptuous, the boastful)–[and He opposes, frustrates, and defeats them], but gives grace (favor, blessing) to the humble. Therefore humble yourselves [demote, lower yourselves in your own estimation] under the mighty hand of God, that in due time He may exalt you,"

Peter instructs believers to clothe themselves with humility and to humble themselves beneath God's mighty hand, trusting Him for exaltation at the proper time.

Notice whose hand controls the timing; God's.

The scripture does not tell you to exalt yourself.

It tells you to humble yourself.

God handles elevation, you handle humility.

We have gotten those responsibilities reversed.

We want God to keep us humble while we handle our own elevation!

No!

YOU HUMBLE YOURSELF AND LET GOD HANDLE THE ELEVATION.

And if the elevation never comes in the form you imagined? Serve Him anyway.

Because Jesus Himself is the reward.

John 13:12-17 (AMPC) “So when He had finished washing their feet and had put on His garments and had sat down again, He said to them, Do you understand what I have done to you? You call Me the Teacher (Master) and the Lord, and you are right in doing so, for that is what I am. If I then, your Lord and Teacher (Master), have washed your feet, you ought [it is your duty, you are under obligation, you owe it] to wash one another's feet. For I have given you this as an example, so that you should do [in your turn] what I have done to you. I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, A servant is not greater than his master, and no one who is sent is superior to the one who sent him. If you know these things, blessed and happy and to be envied are you if you practice them [if you act accordingly and really do them].”

After washing His disciples' feet, Jesus explains that if He, their Lord and Teacher, served them in this lowly manner, they should follow His example and serve one another.

Imagine the scene.

The Lord is washing feet, The Master is performing the servant's task.

The One with the highest position in the room voluntarily assumes the lowest posture in the room.

THAT IS KINGDOM LEADERSHIP.

So here is a test for everyone who wants leadership:

Can you carry the towel before you carry the title?

Can you clean what nobody sees?

Can you serve people who cannot advance your career?

Can you minister to somebody who has absolutely nothing to give you in return?

Can you serve without posting about it?

Can you serve without receiving credit?

Can you serve when somebody else gets thanked?

Because if the towel is beneath you, Kingdom leadership may be beyond you.

Ephesians 4:11-13 (AMPC) “And His gifts were [varied; He Himself appointed and gave men to us] some to be apostles (special messengers), some prophets (inspired preachers and expounders), some evangelists (preachers of the Gospel, traveling missionaries), some pastors (shepherds of His flock) and teachers. His intention was the perfecting and the full equipping of the saints (His consecrated people), [that they should do] the work of ministering toward building up Christ's body (the church), [That it might develop] until we all attain oneness in the faith and in the comprehension of the [full and accurate] knowledge of the Son of God, that [we might arrive] at really mature manhood (the completeness of personality which is nothing less than the standard height of Christ's own perfection), the measure of the stature of the fullness of the Christ and the completeness found in Him.”

Paul describes Christ giving ministry gifts to His Church, including apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers, for the equipping and maturing of the saints and the building up of Christ's Body.

Notice the purpose.

These ministry functions are not trophies.

They are not status symbols.

They are not ecclesiastical decorations.

They exist to serve the Body and equip the saints.

The office is not about the person occupying it, the office exists for the people being served through it.

So if your title primarily enlarges you, something is wrong.

If your leadership creates dependence on you instead of maturity in Christ, something is wrong.

If everybody around you knows how important you are and very few are becoming spiritually mature because of your ministry, something is wrong.

KINGDOM OFFICE IS RESPONSIBILITY, NOT CELEBRITY.

Galatians 1:10 (AMPC) “Now am I trying to win the favor of men, or of God? Do I seek to please men? If I were still seeking popularity with men, I should not be a bond servant of Christ (the Messiah).”

Paul confronts the incompatibility between living for human approval and living as Christ's servant.

Position chasing frequently has an audience problem.

We start asking;

What will people think?

Will they recognize me?

Will they respect me?

Will they invite me?

Will they promote me?

Will they follow me?

And God is asking, “WHEN DID THEIR APPROVAL BECOME MORE IMPORTANT THAN MINE?”

You cannot faithfully serve Christ while making human approval your master.

Sometimes obedience will make you unpopular.

Sometimes obedience will leave you uninvited.

Sometimes obedience will cost you relationships.

Sometimes obedience will place you outside the religious inner circle.

OBEY ANYWAY.

Because your assignment came from Christ.

Matthew 23:11-12 (AMPC) “He who is greatest among you shall be your servant. Whoever exalts himself [with haughtiness and empty pride] shall be humbled (brought low), and whoever humbles himself [whoever has a modest opinion of himself and behaves accordingly] shall be raised to honor.”

Jesus again connects greatness with servanthood and warns that self-exaltation ultimately leads downward, while genuine humility is honored.

There it is again.

Jesus keeps returning to the same Kingdom principle.

Greatness serves.

The world says, “Climb.”

Jesus says, “Serve.”

The world says, “Make them notice you.”

Jesus says, “Humble yourself.”

The world says, “Build your name.”

The Gospel says, “Lift up HIS Name.”

Reflection and Spiritual Insight

Now we need to get personal. Not your pastor, not your bishop, not the person sitting beside you.

YOU. Ask yourself;

Why do I want what I say I want in ministry?

Would I still do it if nobody knew my name?

Would I still preach if only five people listened?

Would I still teach if nobody applauded?

Would I still serve if someone else received the credit?

Would I still obey if God never gave me the title I believe I deserve?

Am I trying to become more visible, or more useful?

Am I pursuing influence, or obedience?

Am I jealous when God uses someone else?

Do I secretly resent people who receive opportunities I wanted?

Do I become offended when I am not recognized?

Does my identity rise and fall according to how people treat my title?

These questions matter because your motive matters to God.

There is a dangerous possibility, You can do something that looks like ministry while your heart is pursuing self-exaltation.

The activity can look holy while the motive is carnal.

And make no mistake, God sees both.

Application to Modern Faith

Stop Measuring Ministry by Visibility

Some of the most valuable Kingdom work happening today will never trend online.

God sees the prayer warrior nobody knows.

God sees the grandmother interceding for her family.

God sees the person quietly feeding someone hungry.

God sees the believer discipling one person.

God sees the volunteer cleaning the sanctuary after everyone leaves.

God sees the person giving secretly.

God sees the believer sharing Christ at work.

God sees the servant nobody applauds.

HEAVEN'S MEASUREMENT SYSTEM IS NOT SOCIAL MEDIA'S MEASUREMENT SYSTEM.

Stop Confusing Platform With Anointing

A large audience does not automatically mean divine approval.

A small audience does not automatically mean divine disapproval.

Numbers tell you how many people are watching.

They do not necessarily tell you whether God is pleased.

Stop Coveting Somebody Else's Assignment

Their assignment requires their grace.

Your assignment comes with yours.

You may be frustrated because you keep asking God to bless you in a position He never assigned you to occupy.

Prepare Before Promotion

If God has you hidden, grow.

Study.

Pray.

Serve.

Develop character.

Learn obedience.

Become accountable.

Let God deal with your pride.

Let Him correct your motives.

Let Him teach you to love people.

Let Him teach you to follow before you demand to lead.

Serve Where You Are

Do not wait for a title to become useful.

You do not need ordination to love somebody.

You do not need a microphone to share Christ.

You do not need a pulpit to encourage somebody.

You do not need a conference invitation to pray.

You do not need a church office to serve.

START WHERE YOUR FEET ARE!

Five Checkpoints for Every Believer

Am I Chasing a Position or Following God's Placement?

1 Corinthians 12:18 (AMPC) “But as it is, God has placed and arranged the limbs and organs in the body, each [particular one] of them, just as He wished and saw fit and with the best adaptation.”

God places the members of His Body according to His will.

Ask yourself, If God never moves me from where I am right now, can I still serve Him joyfully?

If the answer is no, examine why.

Faithfulness is not determined by how impressive your assignment appears.

Faithfulness is determined by whether you obey God where He placed you.

Is My Desire to Lead Actually a Desire to Serve?

Mark 10:43-45 (AMPC) “But this is not to be so among you; instead, whoever desires to be great among you must be your servant, And whoever wishes to be most important and first in rank among you must be slave of all. For even the Son of Man came not to have service rendered to Him, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for (instead of) many.”

Jesus defines Kingdom greatness through servanthood and presents His own sacrificial ministry as the example.

If you want leadership primarily because you want authority, recognition, status, or control, check your heart.

Kingdom leadership is not about getting people underneath you.

It is about accepting responsibility for people entrusted to you.

Ask yourself, Do I want the towel as much as I want the title?

Can I Celebrate Someone Else's Elevation?

Romans 12:10 (AMPC) “Love one another with brotherly affection [as members of one family], giving precedence and showing honor to one another.”

Paul calls believers toward genuine family affection and a willingness to honor one another. This one exposes hearts quickly.

Can you celebrate when somebody else receives what you wanted?

Can you applaud them without secretly asking why it was not you?

Can you pray for their success without feeling threatened?

Jealousy reveals competition, and there should be no competition between members of the same Body.

Their elevation does not diminish your assignment.

Am I Willing to Be Hidden While God Develops Me?

1 Peter 5:5-6 (AMPC) “Likewise, you who are younger and of lesser rank, be subject to the elders (the ministers and spiritual guides of the church)–[giving them due respect and yielding to their counsel]. Therefore humble yourselves [demote, lower yourselves in your own estimation] under the mighty hand of God, that in due time He may exalt you,”

Peter commands humility under God's mighty hand and leaves the timing of exaltation with Him. Can God trust you with obscurity?

Can you remain faithful without recognition?

Can you develop privately before being displayed publicly?

Do not despise hidden seasons.

Roots grow underground.

Foundations are built beneath what people eventually see.

LET GOD DEVELOP WHAT PEOPLE CANNOT SEE BEFORE HE EXPOSES YOU TO WHAT EVERYBODY CAN SEE.

If I Never Receive the Title, Is Jesus Still Enough?

Philippians 3:7-8 (AMPC) “But whatever former things I had that might have been gains to me, I have come to consider as [one combined] loss for Christ's sake. Yes, furthermore, I count everything as loss compared to the possession of the priceless privilege (the overwhelming preciousness, the surpassing worth, and supreme advantage) of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord and of progressively becoming more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him [of perceiving and recognizing and understanding Him more fully and clearly]. For His sake I have lost everything and consider it all to be mere rubbish (refuse, dregs), in order that I may win (gain) Christ (the Anointed One),”

Paul describes everything else as loss compared with the surpassing value of knowing Christ.

This may be the most important checkpoint of all.

Strip everything away.

No title.

No platform.

No microphone.

No invitation.

No followers.

No applause.

No recognition.

No seat of honor.

Just you and Jesus.

Is He enough?

Because if Christ Himself is not enough, the position will never be enough either.

You will always need another title.

Another invitation.

Another audience.

Another level.

Another recognition.

Another affirmation.

WHEN CHRIST IS THE PRIZE, POSITION BECOMES ASSIGNMENT RATHER THAN IDENTITY.

Summary

Beloved, hear me clearly!

Stop chasing positions and get yourselves into position...for Christ.

The Kingdom does not need more celebrities, it needs servants.

It does not need more people obsessed with being seen, it needs people obsessed with being obedient.

It does not need people asking, “How can I become important?”

It needs believers asking, “Jesus, where do You want me?”

God knows your name.

God knows your gift.

God knows your calling.

God knows your potential.

God knows your preparation.

God knows when you are ready.

God knows where you belong.

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO MANIPULATE WHAT GOD HAS ORDAINED.

And if God has not ordained it, you should not want it.

There is no victory in reaching a position God never assigned you.

There is no success in climbing a ladder leaning against the wrong wall.

There is no Kingdom achievement in gaining a title while losing humility.

There is no spiritual promotion in gaining a platform while losing intimacy with Christ.

So stop pushing.

Stop competing.

Stop comparing.

Stop campaigning.

Stop jockeying for position.

Stop worrying about who noticed you.

Stop worrying about who overlooked you.

Stop worrying about who got invited before you.

Stop worrying about whose ministry seems larger than yours.

GET IN POSITION!

Get in prayer.

Get in the Word.

Get in obedience.

Get in humility.

Get in submission to Christ.

Get in service.

Get in love.

Get in your assignment.

Get your motives right.

Get your heart right.

Get your priorities right.

And then stay there until GOD tells you to move.

Because when you finally stand before Jesus Christ, the question will not be how many people called you great.

The question will be whether you were faithful.

You will not impress Him with the title people placed before your name.

You will not impress Him with your follower count.

You will not impress Him with the size of your platform.

You will not impress Him with how many important people knew you.

THE KING OF KINGS IS NOT IMPRESSED BY EARTHLY STATUS.

What matters is whether you did what He called you to do.

Where He called you to do it.

How He called you to do it.

For as long as He called you to do it.

And whether HE received the glory from it.

So I will say again exactly what I said in the Dominion Short, STOP CHASING POSITIONS - GET INTO POSITION...FOR CHRIST!

Because I would rather occupy the lowest place God assigned me than possess the highest position I manufactured for myself.

I would rather serve Christ anonymously and have Heaven know my obedience than become famous among people while Heaven questions my motives.

And I would rather hear Christ's approval than receive the applause of the entire world.

Question For Today

If God told you today that you would never receive the title, platform, position, recognition, audience, influence, or public elevation you have been pursuing, would you still serve Him with the same passion, obedience, faithfulness, and joy; or would your disappointment reveal that somewhere along the way you stopped chasing CHRIST and started chasing what serving Christ could do for YOU?

If You Have Ears To Hear, Then Hear It!

I pray for you each and every day.

All God's Best!
