It’s Friday, Where Are You Taking God This Weekend?

Before You Decide Where You Are Going This Weekend, Remember Who Is Going With You

I originally published the longer teaching behind this Dominion Short in June 2025 entitled “Where Are You Taking God Today?”. In the spirit of the coming weekend, I believe this question needs to be asked again, and perhaps even more directly, It’s Friday, Where Are You Taking God This Weekend?

Beloved, God does not stay home when you decide to go somewhere you know you should not be.

The Holy Spirit does not wait outside, He does not remain at church.

He does not disappear when Friday night comes, the door closes, the lights go down, the browser opens, the private message begins, or temptation presents itself.

You are His Temple!!

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (AMPC) “Do you not know that your body is the temple (the very sanctuary) of the Holy Spirit Who lives within you, Whom you have received [as a Gift] from God? You are not your own, You were bought with a price [purchased with a preciousness and paid for, made His own]. So then, honor God and bring glory to Him in your body.”

You were bought with a price, that price was the very Blood of Christ

You belong to Christ.

The Holy Spirit lives in you.

So wherever you take your body this weekend, you are taking the temple of God and its residents with you.

That changes the question.

It is no longer merely, “Where am I going tonight?”

Ask, “Where am I taking God tonight?”

Before you walk into that room, ask.

Before you enter that relationship, ask.

Before you send that message, ask.

Before you open that website, ask.

Before you slide over Sister or Brother so and so’s house, ask.

Before you participate in something you already know violates the Word of God, ASK!

And understand this, God remaining with you even when you wander into places you should never have entered is evidence of His tremendous grace and love.

However, DO NOT MISTAKE HIS GRACE FOR PERMISSION TO SIN!

Ephesians 4:30 (AMPC) “And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God [do not offend or vex or sadden Him], by Whom you were sealed (marked, branded as God’s own, secured) for the day of redemption [of final deliverance through Christ from evil and the consequences of sin].”

You cannot grieve Someone who is not near.

HE IS IN YOU.

He loves you.

He has sealed you.

And yes, He can be grieved by where you choose to take His temple, YOU!

So before Friday night becomes Saturday morning, before Saturday becomes Sunday, and before you find yourself asking God to forgive what you already knew you should not have done, ask yourself first, “Where am I taking God this weekend?”

If you cannot comfortably acknowledge Jesus in what you are about to do, why are you doing it?

If you know Jesus would not approve of the decision, why are you making it?

If you would be ashamed to acknowledge His presence while doing it, why are you there?

Remember, You do not leave God behind when you leave the house.

You carry His temple with you.

So choose your destination accordingly.

Question For Today

If you could physically see the Holy Spirit walking beside you everywhere you plan to go this weekend, would you still go everywhere you are planning to go?
