If You Can Do It Without God, You Are Not Dreaming Big Enough!
Stop Limiting Your Vision to What Your Own Strength Can Accomplish
When Dohnte Meyers made the Cincinnati Bengals’ 53-man roster, he said something every believer with a God-given vision needs to hear, “If you achieve something that you can do by yourself, you probably didn’t dream big enough.”
Then he went even further, “This can only happen if God does it, because if not, I can’t do this by myself.”
Beloved, THAT WILL PREACH!
Some of us keep asking God for goals that do not require God.
We are praying for things we can finance ourselves, accomplish ourselves, organize ourselves, control ourselves, and explain ourselves.
Then we call it faith.
Where is the faith in attempting only what you already know you can accomplish?
Now Let’s Eat Some Meat!
Ephesians 3:20 (AMPC) declares, “Now to Him Who, by (in consequence of) the [action of His] power that is at work within us, is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly, far over and above all that we [dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams]—”
Did you feel that?
“Infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or DREAMS!”
God is not intimidated by the size of what He placed in your spirit.
You may be, and perhaps that is exactly the problem.
You have reduced the vision until it fits your resources.
Reduced the assignment until it fits your abilities.
Reduced the dream until it fits your bank account.
Reduced the calling until it fits what other people think is reasonable.
And somewhere along the way, you may have reduced a God-sized assignment into a YOU-sized accomplishment.
Look at what Jesus said in Matthew 19:26 (AMPC) “But Jesus looked at them and said, With men this is impossible, but all things are possible with God.”
There are places God may call you where your education cannot carry you.
Your money cannot carry you.
Your connections cannot carry you.
Your talent cannot carry you.
Your experience cannot carry you.
And perhaps God allows the assignment to become that big so that when it happens, nobody can mistake WHO DID IT! GOD DID IT!
That does not mean sitting around waiting for God to do what He commanded you to do.
Mr. Meyers worked.
Faith is not an excuse for laziness.
You prepare.
You study.
You train.
You sacrifice.
You knock on doors.
You obey.
You move when God says move.
Then, when you have reached the absolute end of what human ability can accomplish, you trust God with what only God can do.
Zechariah 4:6 (AMPC) “Then he said to me, This [addition of the bowl to the candlestick, causing it to yield a ceaseless supply of oil from the olive trees] is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit [of Whom the oil is a symbol], says the Lord of hosts.”
Stop shrinking the vision simply because you cannot see how YOU can accomplish it.
Maybe YOU ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE ABLE TO!
Maybe the impossibility is the very place where God intends to demonstrate His sufficiency.
Dream according to His will.
Work according to His instruction.
Walk according to His Word.
And have enough faith to pursue something so far beyond you that, when it happens, your testimony can only be, God Did That!!
Question For Today
Have you been calling it faith while deliberately keeping your dreams small enough that you never actually have to depend completely upon God to accomplish them?
