Have You Stopped Praying Too Soon?
God Has Been Immensely Patient With You; Have You Been Patient With Him?
God has been immensely patient with us.
He has waited while we matured, He has endured our disobedience, and He has given us mercy while we stumbled, questioned, resisted, complained, and sometimes outright ignored Him.
I know, He has been patient with me.
However here is the uncomfortable question, Have we been patient with God?
When God does not answer according to our timetable, do we keep praying?
When heaven seems silent, do we keep believing?
When months become years, do we still trust that God heard us the first time?
Or have some of us quietly buried prayers that God never told us to stop praying?
Jesus taught persistence in prayer for a reason.
Luke 18:1 (AMPC) “ALSO [Jesus] told them a parable, to the effect that they ought always to pray and not to turn coward (faint, lose heart, and give up).”
Read that again, PRAY AND DO NOT GIVE UP!
Some prayers were not denied, some prayers were abandoned.
We became discouraged because God did not move when we expected Him to move. We interpreted waiting as rejection, silence as absence, and delay as denial.
Yet Scripture says in, Habakkuk 2:3 (AMPC), “For the vision is yet for an appointed time and it hastens to the end [fulfillment]; it will not deceive or disappoint. Though it tarry, wait [earnestly] for it, because it will surely come; it will not be behindhand on its appointed day.”
There is an appointed time!
Your responsibility is not to force God's clock.
Your responsibility is to trust the One who controls time.
Maybe today Jesus is inviting you to go back and pick something up.
That prayer for your marriage.
That prayer for your child.
That prayer for your ministry.
That prayer for restoration.
That prayer for direction.
That prayer you prayed so many times that you finally became tired of hearing yourself pray it.
Maybe the question is not, “Why hasn't God answered?”
Maybe the question is, “Why did I stop asking?”
Do not confuse God's patience with inactivity.
Do not confuse God's timing with indifference.
And do not bury a prayer simply because you became tired before the appointed time arrived.
Go back.
Pick it up.
Pray it again.
Believe it again.
Trust God again.
And this time, DO NOT GIVE UP UNTIL GOD TELLS YOU TO STOP!

What prayer did you stop praying because God did not answer according to your timetable, and could Jesus be calling you TODAY to pick that prayer back up and trust Him long enough to see what He intends to do?
