Do the Work - Give God the Worry

God Gave You the Responsibility; He Never Gave You Permission to Carry the Care

God created us to be productive, diligent, responsible, and faithful. Work is not the enemy. Responsibility is not the enemy. The care, anxiety, fear, and pressure we attach to responsibility is where we get into trouble.

Some believers are asking God to remove responsibilities that He never told them to abandon, when what they really need to remove is the worry they attached to them.

There is a difference between carrying your responsibility and carrying the care of your responsibility.

Responsibility says: “I will faithfully do what God has given me to do.”

Care says: “Everything depends on me.”

And child of God, everything does NOT depend on you!

1 Peter 5:7 (AMPC) “Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully.”

Read that carefully.

God did not say cast your responsibilities on Him, He said cast your care on Him!

Make the phone call. Go to work. Prepare for the meeting. Handle the assignment. Keep your commitment. Do what God has placed in your hands.

Then stop acting as though you are God and everything depends upon you!

Jesus never called you to carry tomorrow while trying to obey Him today.

Matthew 6:31-33 (AMPC) “Therefore do not worry and be anxious, saying, What are we going to have to eat? or, What are we going to have to drink? or, What are we going to have to wear? For after all these things do the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows well that you need them all. But seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be given you besides.”

Your Father already knows what you need.

Your worrying does not make God more faithful. Your anxiety does not make God move faster. Your sleepless nights do not make you more responsible.

Worry is not proof that you care, worry is evidence that you are carrying something God told you to cast onto Him.

And Jesus gives us another way.

Matthew 11:28-30 (AMPC) “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest. [I will ease and relieve and refresh your souls.] Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I am gentle (meek) and humble (lowly) in heart, and you will find rest (relief and ease and refreshment and recreation and blessed quiet) for your souls. For My yoke is wholesome (useful, good—not harsh, hard, sharp, or pressing, but comfortable, gracious, and pleasant), and My burden is light and easy to be borne.”

Notice this, Jesus offers rest while still talking about a yoke.

The yoke represents work.

Jesus is not necessarily removing the assignment, He is teaching you how to carry the assignment WITH HIM.

You can have a full schedule and still have a peaceful soul.

You can have enormous responsibility and still refuse anxiety.

You can work hard without worshiping your work.

You can be accountable without believing you control the outcome.

Do what God assigned you to do, then trust God to do what only God can do.

Stop trying to be the employee and the Provider.

Stop trying to be the servant and the Master.

Stop trying to obey God and control every outcome.

You are responsible for your obedience, God is responsible for being God.

So today, tell the Father, “Father, show me my responsibility. I will faithfully do what You have given me to do. I give You the worry, anxiety, fear, pressure, and outcome. I refuse to carry what You commanded me to cast upon You. In The Mighty Name of Jesus, Amen.

Do the work.

Cast the care.

Trust God with the outcome.

Question For Today

Are you truly carrying the responsibility God gave you, or have you also picked up the worry He specifically commanded you to give to Him, because deep down you still believe everything depends on YOU?

If You Have Ears To Hear, Then Hear It!

I pray for you each and every day.

All God's Best!
