Distress Does Not Mean God Has Abandoned You

The Believer Will Face Trouble - The Difference Is We Know God Hears Us When We Cry

Being a believer does not exempt you from distress.

Following Christ does not mean you will never hurt, never struggle, never feel overwhelmed, or never face circumstances that bring you to tears. Faith does not mean pretending everything is fine when everything is not fine.

David understood this very well, he said, or shall I say sung in Psalm 120:1 AMPC “In my distress I cried to the Lord, and He answered me.”

Notice the scripture does not say, “If I experience distress.” It says, “In my distress.”

There will be moments when your faith is tested, your heart is hurting, your strength feels depleted, and you simply do not know what to do next.

There is something that should be natural to believers, that should be to CRY OUT TO GOD!

Stop allowing distress to convince you that God has abandoned you.

Stop assuming that because God has not immediately changed the situation, He has not heard your prayer.

He hears you!

The same God who heard David hears you. The same God who answered David is still answering His beloved children today.

Your distress may be real - Your God is MORE real.

Your tears may be falling - God is listening.

Your situation may not have changed yet - God has not stopped being God!

So when life becomes too heavy to carry, do not run away from God - RUN TO HIM!

Question For Today

When distress comes, do you immediately cry out to the God Who hears you, or do you allow fear, worry, people, and circumstances to become louder than your faith in Him?

If You Have Ears To Hear, Then Hear It!

I pray for you each and every day.

All God's Best!
