Speaking up is costly (emotionally, professionally, financially, and more). It requires courage, a superhuman therapist, and a fresh manicure (for me). I fight against injustice wherever I see it, including in the academy and in professionalized "social work". I won't be silenced no matter how uncomfortable it may be--we are always worth telling the truth in order to reimagine a violence-free world.
