Sometimes a whisky just seems to hit right with you. I dunno why, but this is one such.
Blind Summit The Lochend Blend is a (very) small batch blended Scotch from a couple of affable Edinburgh chaps.
Perhaps because one of them is sort of an ex colleague, or perhaps because I share their affinity for the hills, or perhaps because some of their other whiskies have been truly stupendous, I have enjoyed every batch of Lochend Blend, whatever that perhaps might be. Maybe, like the best bits of the best drams, it's just ineffable.
It's probably important or useful to note that each batch has been quite different from the last. Different cask types every time, innit. So perhaps I'll go off it next time.
But for now, I'm enjoying this more than many of the single malts I'm trying.
