I thought it was time for an update on all my gaming projects for the end of 2026 and into 2027:
'The Road Goes Ever On’ (RGEO).
RGEO will be a Middle Earth solo game, combining the best elements of my more recent projects (STAFF and DWSSG3e+ along with Barbarian Prince) where a player assumes the role of a fellowship of adventurers. Since there are many games based on ‘The Lord of the Rings’ and ‘The Hobbit’, I wanted to make sure that players would actually play another one before I committed myself to months of work only to find nobody will play it!
To gauge interest, I created a membership scheme here on my website so that real support for RGEO can be determined. I’ll be taking a good look at the membership and support at the end of October to see if the project will go forward. Until then, at the start of last month, I released 3 Sample Booklets for RGEO, so please take a look and let me know what you think.
‘Doctor Who Solitaire Story Game: Revised Third Edition (DWSSG3e+)
DWSSG3e+ was released in April 2026. It has had over 150 downloads since then and even a Discord channel devoted to the game (although this has been a bit quiet of late). In the Core Set of DWSSG3e+ you could play four incarnations of the Doctor – 1st, 4th, 10th and 11th- and I promised that I would be adding more Doctors, their Companions, Gadgets and Idea cards in future expansions.
Well, that time is NOW as I can announce ‘All of Time and Space 1’ (AOTAS1) is to be released next month – November 2026 – just in time for the show’s 63rd anniversary. There’ll be more articles about what exactly the expansion will contain in a few weeks, but you can expect two new Doctors to add to the game...
‘Star Trek: Adventures in the Final Frontier’ (STAFF)
STAFF was released in November 2025 and again has had a really good download rate. It was homage to the Decipher CCG from the late 90’s-early 00’s which was absolutely seminal for me at the time, and I collected, and still have, 1000’s of those cards! I have tried MANY times to do a thematic solitaire version of the CCG, and STAFF was the culmination of those efforts.
Or is it? As we reached the 60th anniversary of Star Trek last month, and inspired by going to a Trek convention in August, I have to admit that I’m looking at STAFF again and seeing if it could be done differently. Not as a set of Booklets but as a Solitaire Living Card Game...
Barbarian Prince: Ultimate Edition (BPUE)
My favourite game when I grew up was Barbarian Prince, so I always wanted to make a fitting tribute to the designer Arnold Hendrick as thanks for all those hours and inspiration he gave me. BPUE is by FAR the most downloaded game here and continues to be very popular. I have also released a few packs of expansion material for the game and even did some work on a sequel game ‘The Prophecy of Castamaris’ where the Prince continues his quests on another map...
Many, many thanks to all my supporters who have downloaded my games, joined the RGEO and monthly membership schemes, and have been generous enough to buy me ‘coffees’ over the last few months. It really does mean a lot to me and I hope you enjoy all the games and expansions.
