About Dorothea Mordan
Writing family stories, history, designing tools to help others.
I write about our human story. The work I share on this platform is family storytelling—writing about my family history, how our history affects our lives today, and tools you can use to tell yours.
My work and projects:
The Dunlap-Wyman Family Project and preserving family history are the topics of posts and perks on this page. My grandparents, Eva and Albert Dunlap spent over 40 years in China, 1911 - 1953. They experienced all of the geopolitics from that perspective, and left thousands of pages of letters, diaries, and other ephemera. Eva also left hundreds of original works of art depicting life in early twentieth century China. Using this material I am writing about their experience and the lessons to be drawn from a challenging period of history. The parallels to our time in the twenty-first century are remarkable.
