Acerca de DFTM¹ - Don't Feed The Monster

DFTM1, short for Don’t Feed the Monster, is a curatorial collective founded in 2022 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence. Since 2024, the group has consisted of seven members with different backgrounds and perspectives — Italia Bruno, Sara Candore, Clarissa Colurso, Sara Onofrietti, Claudia Stella, Mattia Torelli, and Iulia Uries — who work together on the concept, development, installation, and communication of each exhibition and event.
A strong focus is placed on the visual identity of every project, which is developed in close connection with its concept. Over time, this attention to graphic design has become one of the defining features of DFTM1’s work.
The collective’s aim is to contribute to a new contemporary art scene by creating connections and collaborations with cultural institutions and independent organisations in Florence and beyond. Dialogue with artists, the city, and emerging forms of expression lies at the heart of its practice. DFTM1 sees the encounter between Florence’s historical fabric and the ideas and practices of a younger generation of artists as an opportunity to spark new conversations and open up new spaces for contemporary art and social exchange.
Reflecting this approach, the collective’s name is an invitation not to feed our inner monsters, but to move beyond conventional boundaries and established ways of thinking.
