Street & Documentary Photography with a Photojournalistic Approach
I am Dominik Christian Mayer, a photographer with a focus on photojournalism and documentary photography. My work explores people, real-life environments and social structures. I follow an observational approach – close to the subject, unposed and authentic.
My photographic projects are developed as reportages and documentary series. They engage with everyday life, urban spaces and social contexts, telling visual stories beyond staging or idealized representations. The focus lies on real moments, atmosphere and a clear, timeless visual language.
In addition to photojournalism, I work in the fields of people and portrait photography, documentary long-term projects, interior and architectural photography, as well as wedding reportages. Even in commissioned work, my approach remains documentary, calm and unobtrusive, with a strong emphasis on light, space and in-between moments.
My photographic work ranges from street photography to documentary photography. It is created worldwide and follows a photojournalistic approach. In addition, I produce freelance editorials. The works are used editorially and shown in publications and exhibitions.
