Danielle is a mother of 3 kids who she has raised on her own.
She has sacrificed and done everything in her power to raise three kids as a single mom does.
When they got old enough to be independent enough to look after one another, she put herself through university, earning a BScN Bachelor of Science in nursing.
Now this is when it should get easy right?
Find a job, a good full time job, with benefits, work and enjoy a stable income she earned and let life be less of a daily struggle.
Except now, she has begun having seizures. The first came in May, and she woke up on the kitchen floor in a pool of blood with a broken nose needing stitches on her head.
Each one is getting worse then the last.
Each one getting scarier then the last.
Her last seizure this past week lasted 30 minutes and she was taken to Toronto to see a neuro specialist, which has thus far, given no insight as to what is causing them, how to prevent them and no proactive treatment plan.
Because of the seizures, she had been put on a forced leave of absence from work, lost her drivers license and has no benefits to cover any expenses, let alone the gas, parking and transportation fees to try and understand what these very scary seizures have been triggered by.
If you have it in your heart and financial ability, buying Danielle 'a coffee' will give her funds to pay for a day parking at the hospital. Buying 2 coffees allows her to buy groceries, pay bills. Buying 3 or more coffees can put a significant impact into her rent, and should she require an ambulance (now a $200 privileges) she can call to get help faster.
In the 5 years I have known Danielle, she has exemplified to me what an amazing woman she is, she has done self work, grown, self empowered and educated herself and is always the first person to say yes to another woman or youth in need.
She meets everyday with a smile and beautiful outlook, and now it is time for us, as her community to give that same support back.
