So yesterday I had the chance to join some students and educators as we got to experience the wealth and knowledge of LA based movie editor Angus Emmerson for those of you who don't know Angus Emmerson click here that's a link to his Linktree with all his links there.
Angus was born in Australia in Queensland in a place called Rockhampton or if you've listened to " Real People " it might be known to you as Rocky. The first thing that is super clear to me is that Angus is truly a professional and has a clear passion for the industry.
Angus is a part owner of LA based production company Burnish Creative. From my research it's clear to see that Angus and the team of Burnish Creative are a talented crew of people and on their game.
Angus spoke freely about film school in New Zealand and the important parts of that was how to network and how to collaborate and that film school offered a stimulation of the workplace. Angus also touched on how New Zealand is a small pool of talent.
The Student to Industry was brought to us by the team of Avid and it actually got me keen to get to understand the world of Media Composer, I am getting more in to video but I will always be a big audio bloke.
Angus touched on how sound design and audio is a big part of editing and I definitely agree and support that comment. Angus intrigued me and motivated me to actually download Media composer first by Avid and give it a shot and start to learn it.
