So I knew week 2 was going to be a little different and I knew that sound design would be a different take but I also knew I was going to run in to road blocks and I have become honest to except that at this point in life to be honest with you, when ever I am running pro tools on any of the windows machines I run in to issues it's just happening to be a given.
I also knew that this week for some of the sound design I was keen to try and pump out some type of drum upbeat sound using the Novation Circuit, for my sound design I am aiming to focus on working with software as well as hard ware and I am hoping that is more than okay for the requirements of the course :D
The Novation Circuit was one of my first pieces of all in one groove boxes I owned but I will be working with the tracks.
That first issue was going to be spilling a drink over my MX KEYS keyboard which means switching to my Razer Huntsman mini keyboard with those noisy irritating gaming switches.
Upon tweaking around and just noodling with the circuits tracks I quickly worked out that I was on to something a little creepy, and I thought this might work down the track for the walking dead S9 video but I am not sure so I started to plan it out any way within the Circuit Tracks - I then realised that no matter what I am going to struggle with getting these files off my tracks with out externally recording them, foolish me... so that's a project for Week 3 to take what I have created using the Novation Circuit Tracks and to record them in to Pro Tools and export them.
I run in to multiple issues with getting Helm and Filterjam to work in Pro Tools last week it seemed to work with no issues what so ever on my end however this week it doesn't seem to work out at all, I am not sure weather that has to do with the latest version of Windows, but I also couldn't get ableton to run with Helm on windows 11 either anything video related I have been doing on the windows but I think the times are changing and it's a purpose to switch things up and to work with the video on windows but to use the sound design stuff on MAC and then once the sound has been captured and recorded to then come back to windows I think it's where it is at for me personally.
I will be reverting back to windows 10 this week.
Rather than admitting defeat I worked with Absynth 5 by Native Instruments and created something short and sweet that I simply called Gloomy.
My attempts to use screen recording from mucking around with Helm failed it appears that Action 4 doesn't support recording a secondary monitor.
