So most people know I have been striving to go DAWLESS and get creative out side of the computer, considering I am studying production that may sound kind of weird or odd, but that's up to you and you can make that choice based on how you feel!
My MV-1 I brought earlier in the year is really just sitting in overflow and not really doing much for creativity or doing much in general, if you heard a teaser for Jungle Beats on the podcast, that's been the ONLY TRACK I have made and produced on the MV1 that I thought let's kick it, but even still, the Jungle Beats track still hasn't been released in any way shape or form it's still just sitting there as a tease on the podcast. Technically you could say three tracks cause this has three mixes, Original, Vintage Reelz and Radio Ep mix weather anything will happen in relation to the these mixes I don't know if they are going to move off the podcast on to streaming networks, I don't know how much energy I want to put in to that kind of sound right now - I am exploring a very country pop, Miami Vice, Melbourne Bounce kind of synergy at the moment and that's got me wanting to expand and explore.
Rather than talking about creativity lets just get down to the facts of it I find the MV-1 to be extremely menu diving and the small screen kind of shits me personally, though I have the Roland TR-8s so most of you would say that shouldn't be a problem but it a problem - I feel like I don't understand the MV-1 as instrument either, I feel like I am missing the vibe cause I jumped straight in to the MV-1 when I possibly should have leaned towards the MC-101 which I made hints of in my five pieces of gear but sadly that's life and you win and lose some of those battles.
Though I recently opted to jump on the Roland Website and download the Roland MV-1 manual is that going to help me better understand the Roland MV-1 hopefully that will add the the layer of creativity and allow me to get stuff done more creatively with the device. I would love to love this device but currently the machine is just sitting off to the side, and I honestly think this is a powerful machine but maybe I just don't understand it, and that the manual should help.
I am honestly regretting not getting my hands on the MPC One over this device and that's just a fact of life to be honest, and that's something I have got to live with sadly. I think that the there's a lot that lacks in the MV-1 and I think coming from not really a defined Roland Background I think I have kind not been left on a level playing field but that's definitely not the fault of roland that's my fault and not the fault of Roland or the MV-1 at all, so I will update you in the next few weeks after the studying of the manual and seeing if I use it more now I have a iPad as well, it's also I never really had my honeymoon period with the device either.
