As I am typing this I don't know exactly where the Model Samples will sit on my desk but for the last few days I have been mucking on the modal samples and guess what you could call it would be noodling and I have been noodling around with the Model Samples and the more that I dive in to the workflow of the Model Samples I start learning and yearning for more Elektron gear and I think that's why I am I want to dive in the deep end and grab myself a Cycles - I recently had a chance to pick up the Cycles or the Circuit Tracks and I opted for the Circuit Tracks no matter how much I love the samples so far and I have been diving in to it and lovin' it a few months ago when I picked up the Samples I opted to pick up the samples over the Circuit Tracks and that's been one of my most regretted choices ever, but at the end of the day on the same note I wouldn't change it for the world and that's just a fact of life.
Model Samples is unique and this provides people a understanding of the Elektron work flow without having to go and drop big dosh on a Digitone or Digitakt to be perfectly honest there's one or both of them in my future and that's just a fact of life, I know they come in second hand some times to the gang at FoundSound so that might be a way to save my self a few hundred and that's always a bonus I have to consider when working out what gear to get.
So why now is the Samples a staple on my desk? Well the more I investigate it and the more I enjoy working with the workflow of the Model Samples one of the biggest gripes for me was the AC adaptor, I am limited in the space I work and play and create in, to the point where I am running power leads all over the shop to get shit done and that's just a fact of my limitations but now that Elektron has dropped the Power Handle I think that's going to be a game changer for me, though I was excepting the power handle to have a built in battery and cost around $159 - $199.00 AUD they went the direct opposite of that and ventured in to the world of having the AA batteries which works just as well for me because I rock the Varta Batteries in my world and eco system for a lot of my music and camera gear. So I know I will get a fairly long shelf life out of the batteries that I use and that's just a fact of life.
I am keen to get more hands on time with the Model Samples and that's just a fact of life, I have the power handle currently in transport to me and I can't wait to actually have it with me and be able to when we get back to travelling maybe carrying the Model Samples with me, as a solution as a portable groovebox I don't know but it's just something for me to consider to be honest with you for so long if you asked me the groovebox in my bag it was the circuit.
