JBL GO 3 - IT'S TOTES AWESOME

Apr 29, 2021

So we're talking the JBL GO 3 have you been around on my socials lately? JBL has totally got some awesome pieces of KIT dropping of late and I feel it in my boots that 2021 is going to be a massive year for JBL and everything that the company has to offer, I think any one who knows me well enough knows that I am all about quality pieces of kit.

I am reguarly travelling between Bendigo and Echuca and Melbourne and often you've got to have the need to listen to music out loud normally me EDC Bluetooth portable speaker was the JBL GO 2 in Blue, I actually sold multiples of these to friends, one dude even put a pop socket on it to attach a carbineer to wear it off the belt lol a bit of over kill I will admit. I don't know if the GO 3 will replace the GO 2 for me personally I have to agree that it slots in and works for me with in conjunction with the GO3.

If I was thinking that I needed old school connections aka that thing they call a 3.5mm headphone jack then the GO 2 has to be my go to, the GO 3 is lighter looks more rugged and industrial while still staying stylish and true to it's roots but it's missing our beloved 3.5mm I think the ship has sailed on that port for speakers less than 200.00 to be perfectly honest with you.

The G0 2 had no shortage of colours and the GO 3 certainly doesn't have a shortage of colours either to be perfectly honest with you and I think that keeps this design looking fresh and industrial but still stylish and if you have a family of 4 or 5 you can each have you own colour as I recently suggested to someone and they proceeded to do so, some one did mention it would be nice to be able to daisy chain or link up these speakers I think for speakers under $100.00 AUD mark we will never see that feature not in the next year or so to be honest.

I have the black and orange and I love that I would have loved a full orange one but I can keep dreaming from my first impressions it was clear that thing packed trhe bass from listening to the hit parmas in june by ILLY to blasting Here Without You by Hilltop Hoods to blasting Not Pretty Enough by Kasey Chambers it's clear that it rocks JBL signature sound in a small compact and pocketable form factor and it doesn't compromise, I gave up after blasting through my headphone test list realising that DAMN this thing had vibrated it's way off the desk more times than I could clearly count or care to count and that's just not funny some may think it is but I certainly didn't think it was to be honest with you. But that just shows that the BASS truly does move things lol.

Conclusion: For $59.00 in Australia you're not going to find a speaker that sounds this good or this rugged or this level of BASS anywhere and that's just the factors of life to be honest with you. The colourways they have done are PRETTY EPIC and there's truly something for every one with this speaker and that's just a fact off life, but I wish they did a full orange one I would totally rock that and that would be a fact of life. The battery life on this thing is decent for the size and sound profile is truly true to the CORE JBL sound I don't think you can go wrong and it's clearly a upgrade from the GO 2 but also a downgrade you've got to be your own judge on weather that 3.5mm in a pocket speaker is important to you.
