JBL CLUB ONE - First Impression, - A new King?

Mar 09, 2021

Please Note: All thoughts in this FIRST IMPRESSIONS are of my own and aren't shaded by any companies or JBL Australia, these were purchased with my own money from my local JB HI FI.

So I wanted to pump something out very quickly but short and sweet and straight to the punch line to be honest with you guys I won’t have a full review until the end of the march as that’s just how I roll I like to have a few good weeks with the gear that I am reviewing before I pump out a review but a first impressions is totally valid to be pushed out now.

It’s been a few days with these, and the JBL CLUB ONE is a valid excuse for a flagship pair of cans, like hell SHUT UP & TAKE MY MONEY NOW! Wait they already have lol so don’t mind me. It’s clear on the packaging of your buying quality cans, the unboxing experience is on fleek.  The comfort on these in my testing is next level; they take it up a notch from the CLUB 950 which is bound to be expected considering that price jump of $100.00 but they could have easily pushed them in to the $549.00 bracket and you wouldn’t blink an eyelid.

The difference between these and the 950s aren’t incretimental I feel like I jumped two models not one model and that’s a good thing, the hard case seems to a lot more glossy than the hard case in the 950s but maybe that’s because my 950s have been carried me too be honest and that’s just the facts of life, the case seems harder though and the accessories are of the same high quality you’ve come to know and love from JBL.

The ANC is top of the line and we might even be safe to say we could have a new king on deck, that’s a big call from me and any one who knows me will know I don’t make that call lightly. The dynamic range of the drivers and vocal clarity and instrument separation is second to none, it makes the 950s weep, but the 950s are still bloody AMAZING and I wouldn’t change them for the world, they each shine in their rights.

The bass is good here, the vocal clarity and the overall clarity in tracks with the CLUB ONES are the one to beat, I love listening to these, these give me the feelings of premium cans but that soundstage is WIDE and Immersive it makes me feel like I am sitting the front row of that The Space Between ILY concert, these definitely shine across all genres of music and that’s just a fact.

Battery life is decent. I haven’t killed mine yet and they have 5 - 7 hours of use, and they only had 30% on them out of the box.

So my conclusion for the first impressions are these are a major epic cop and definitely worth your hard earned peanuts. The JBL CLUB series has been relatively impressive and the JBL CLUB series has really UPPED the game so far all the CLUB range has impressed me they boast high level audio quality, high quality design and there’s definitely more pros to these than cons and that’s a fact but based on the first impression these are definitely every last cent these may just be the new king of the headphones.

Full review dropping March 28th.
