Helpful resources for Waldenström’s Macroglobulinemia caregivers
I am the wife and primary caregiver of a person with Waldenström Macroglobulinemia. That's a mouthful, right? I'd never heard of this disorder. That is, until my husband was diagnosed with this blood cancer.
Waldenström Macroglobulinemia is is a rare type of non-Hodgkin lymphoma that affects white blood cells and causes an overproduction of a thick protein called IgM. It’s slow-growing, but its symptoms and treatment can deeply impact a person’s life—and the life of their caregiver.
Only about 1,000 to 1,500 people in the U.S. are diagnosed with WM each year, which makes it incredibly rare and often poorly understood, even by some medical professionals.
As a result, WM caregivers are often left to figure things out on their own.
That’s where WaldenströmStrong comes in.
We help WM caregivers by providing helpful organizational tools, free and premium resources, and the chance to feel hope again.
