I'm an engineer by training and by instinct. I spend my days solving real hardware problems — circuits that need to stay cool, systems that have to be reliable, designs that can't afford to be wrong. And somewhere along the way I got frustrated with the tools available: bloated desktop software behind expensive licenses, sketchy online calculators with no explanation of the math, spreadsheets that live on one person's laptop and vanish when they leave the team.
So I built what I wished existed.
Engineering Toolkit is a growing collection of free, browser-based tools that do the actual physics — no approximations hidden behind a pretty UI, no lookup tables dressed up as calculations. Every formula is grounded in the same standards and textbooks I use at work: IEC, ISO, NEC, IPC. The kind of stuff that matters when something is going into a real product.
I build every tool in my spare time, usually late at night after a full day of engineering. Each one starts as a problem I ran into myself — a calculation I had to do repeatedly, a standard I had to interpret, a chart I had to digitize by hand. If I had to do it more than twice, it probably deserved a proper tool.
The toolkit is free and always will be. But maintaining it — keeping it fast, adding new tools, fixing edge cases — takes real time. If one of these calculators saved you an hour of work, caught a mistake before it made it into hardware, or just gave you confidence in a number you were going to use anyway — that means a lot to me.
A coffee helps me keep going. More than that, it tells me this is worth building.
