Dearrrrr Grad Student,
Welcome! My name is Elana and I'm a 6th year PhD candidate who podcasts about the ~joys~ of grad school. Dear Grad Student is a podcast for grad students to celebrate, commiserate, and support one another through grad school. Each episode, I chat with fellow grad students about their professional and personal experiences, without taking either too seriously. But more importantly, this podcast's true impact may lie in what it doesn't discuss. This isn't a podcast for tips on how to write you Master's thesis or write a killer abstract. This is a podcast for the people who are trying to maintain a semblance of normalcy. Of mental health. For those who are oppressed by the racist, sexist, classist academic system. For those who just need to hear someone else say "this f***ing sucks for me too and you aren't alone".
This page exists for people who want to support the pod, but who may not be able to (or want to) support the podcast on Patreon. Totally understandable! So, here's a fun, new way to support, with NO strings attached (except my undying love).
So, if you can/want to, please buy me a "coffee". Your donation contributes to hosting the podcast on all your favorite platforms (like Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Podchaser, & more), the cost of the podcast website, subscriptions to Later for social media managing, and Canva for all the graphics and fun merch available. Right now, me and the Dear Grad Student team are working to build more support here and on Patreon to start paying the team members (especially Coral, my editor!) for their hardwork! You can learn more about the Dear Grad Student Team here.
You can find the podcast on Twitter (@deargradstudent), Instagram (@deargradstudentpod), Facebook (Dear Grad Student), and NOW ON TIKTOK (@deargradstudent)!
Thank you SO much for all the support given to me and the pod. This is the best hobby and passion project I've ever decided to just "go for" and it is ONLY possible 2.5 years later because of YOUR support.
Until next time...
~warmest~ regards, BEST wishes, sincerely,
elana
