About davidnprogress
I retired early in 2023 at 56 after being laid off—no worries, though! My plan had always been to retire in May 2024, a goal I set over 20 years ago after surviving stage 4 cancer.
For the first several months, early retirement was everything I had hoped for—traveling to National Parks, exploring new adventures, and fully embracing my newfound freedom. But life had a surprise in store. In May 2024, I was diagnosed with serious heart issues, leading to quintuple bypass surgery.
What a shock!
Despite the unexpected detour, I remain deeply grateful for early retirement. I’m now adjusting to life with stage 2 heart failure and a high-tech ICD implant, focusing on health, purpose, and sharing my journey.
Thank you for supporting me—it truly means the world!
