Hello everyone! 😀

You probably know me as that dark haired girl that interviews people on the streets of random cities around the world, so let me introduce myself...

I'm Marina and I run the channel Dating Beyond Borders 👋

What exactly does that mean?

Well, at this point it means.. I do everything. All of it.

I started the channel 8 years ago with the aim of creating videos about what it's like dating around the world. I made it into this giant thing with booking studios, hiring videographers and editors, actors, makeup artists... I believed it had to be HUGE in order for me to succeed.

Fast forward a few years and I've minimized everything to the point where I'm building it up from the ground again.

Why?

Covid has impacted my channel greatly - views started dropping and I realized I was spending more than I was earning (someone had to pay studio/videographers/editors). What's more, I was no longer as passionate about the videos I was producing.

I wanted to do something different, so I taught myself how to film and went traveling to Europe for two months, picking some great cheap spots like Sweden and Norway (business-mind here!) I finally felt like I was more on track with where I wanted to be.

Unfortunately my finances didn't feel the same way.

I had to put a pause on the editor (the last person on my team) and start editing videos myself.

So here I am. My current situation may look perfect from the outside (so many followers, right?!) but it's far from ideal.

Not to complain because I genuinely love what I do, but in order to get to that next step, which is expand, finances play a big role.

*And if anyone knows anything about social media, Canada doesn't yet monetize TikTok and definitely not Instagram. So Youtube views, specifically long-form views, impact creator's life heavily.

So this is where this community comes in. With your support I will be able to:

• Grow my Podcast (up the quality, hire an editor)
• Travel to film in exciting and more remote locations
• Expand the team with 3 hosts to cover hot spots around the world
• Start my new passion project "People Beyond Borders" focusing on real people around the world and where they find fulfillment.
