Nine real database problems I keep running into, and the exact SQL I use to fix them
I’ve worked with a lot of databases now. Some were clean. Most were not. And the funny thing is, the problems are almost always the same. Nobody sat down and said “let’s build a bad database.” It just happened slowly, one quick fix at a time.
So here are the design problems I run into again and again, with the SQL to fix each one. No theory dump. Just the problem, the query, and why it works.
