Staying on Track

Staying on Track

Feb 10, 2025

imageEven though I consider myself a Bible enthusiast, I sometimes struggle to stay on track! As a Christian woman, I’m determined to stay grounded in the Word, but it’s not always easy. Distractions pull me in every direction—hither and thither. (Hither and thither? Haha! Sometimes reading the KJV rubs off on me.)

Anyway, with sooooo much to juggle, it can feel like there’s never enough time to fit everything in. But I’ve found that keeping a list of spiritual goals helps me stay focused. Some of the things on my list are:

  1. Follow my Bible reading plan to journey through the Word.

  2. Dive deep into Bible study for further understanding.

  3. Record my reflections—both formally on my Daily Yearly blog and informally in my upcoming Devotional Nook (super excited to get this started on the blog!)

  4. Read at least one chapter a day from a chosen book. Right now, I'm working through Foundations of the Christian Faith by James Montgomery Boice.

Honestly, I get so much satisfaction from checking things off—just like a to-do list for work. However, I’ve also learned to give myself grace. Between daily chores, homeschooling, and other responsibilities, I may not always accomplish everything, and that’s okay.

The most important thing is to stay in the Word and carve out time for intimacy with God. Every small step counts! Today, I read through Exodus 33-35, and it reminded me of something essential: We are relational beings, created in the image of a relational God. Moses' deep encounters with God in these chapters show how vital that relationship is.

So, I’m learning to trust that each little thing I do every day—whether it’s reading Scripture, praying, or reflecting on God’s presence—matters. It’s all part of staying consistent in my walk with Him.

How do you stay on track in your Christian journey? Share your thoughts below—I’d love to hear from you!

Blessings,

Mrs. O
