One of the best technique to get your mind off stress is this - 'Mandala Art'.

Mandala is a type of art therapy which helps you reduce stress, anxiety and tension. Since this involves drawing certain creative patterns in a certain way, it helps you practice to improve focus and concentration. The list of benefits can just go on. Also, at the end you get an art piece made by yourself!! You don't need to be a pro artist. I myself am not a pro yet I think I could manage a decent one. After all, we all are artists of our own life in our own way.
