A Daadi Reflection on Rail Realities and Climate Wins

At Daadi, we’ve got a small confession to make:We don’t choose the clothes. You do.

We don’t have a secret stylist picking out perfect boho frocks and breezy linen jumpsuits. What you see on our rails is exactly what gets donated — and what gets donated is a reflection of what people are buying new.

So when someone asks, “Where have all the cotton dresses gone?” or “Why is there so much polyester?” — we gently remind our swappers: if fast fashion is what’s filling your basket, then fast fashion is what will fill our rails.image

👗 Why It Matters

The clothing you buy today becomes the donation of tomorrow.

If we fill our wardrobes with synthetic fibres like polyester and nylon, that’s what ends up in donation bins — and eventually on our shop floor. These materials don’t breathe, don’t biodegrade, and don’t help us build a more sustainable future.

That 100% cotton wrap dress you loved? It was once someone’s thoughtful purchase.

Someone who chose well, wore it well, and passed it on.

We want more of that.

💚 Daadi’s Climate Win: 171.000 KG of CO₂ Saved!

Here’s something worth celebrating:

Since February, Daadi swappers have helped save over 171,000 kilograms of CO₂ by giving clothes a second (and sometimes third) life. That’s a huge achievement — and here’s what that looks like in real-world

Driving around the planet 28 times in a petrol car.

Every swap counts. Every saved item adds up. And every conscious choice keeps harmful emissions out of the atmosphere.

💬 A Gentle Reminder for Our Swappers

If you’re not finding enough cotton or linen pieces, it’s not because we’re holding them back. It’s because those fabrics aren’t coming in often enough. So we ask:

Next time you buy something new, think about what you’d want to donate later. Scrolling through online shopping platforms like Temu or Shein will soon be the donations that get refused. Nobody wants to put those in a swap bag so we end up cutting them up for filler. They have too much plastic in the material and cannot even be used as cleaning cloths

Choose breathable, natural fibres. Choose clothes that last.

Choose garments that you’d be proud to pass on.

Daadi’s Golden Rule:

Buy less, choose better, and be the reason our rails stay beautiful.

Let’s continue to cool our wardrobes — and the planet — together.

One wise purchase, one kind donation, and one epic swap at a time.
