Hi! I would like to introduce myself
I am your local godly mom who loves gentle apologetics, community, Jesus, and cozy games.
My husband Nate and I are the equivalent of high school sweethearts, and have been married 16 years. My day job is being a homemaker and busy homeschooling mom to our four awesome kids. We love a good laugh, travel, coffee, Nintendo games, and quote movies almost as often as the bible.
Why online?
My family and I have been living in our RV, travelling before our kids grow up. We wanted ways to have friends wherever we were, and maintain connections with people back home. We started to build an online community around cozy gaming and connecting over deeper topics as well. Though I did not start by sharing the gospel, I quickly realized how lost and hurting some people truly were, and in some cases how they were not connecting with the modern church.
I have spent the last four years learning the online community and I see a real hunger for mentorship and biblical guidance. Not everyone has a godly friend or parent they can ask questions of or go to for advice. Sadly, the way we do community online does not change the way we need fellowship, and the church has been a bit slow to rise to effectively meet those needs.
Which is understandable since it is a whole new world and a huge shift to make. Especially since more and more younger people spend a majority of their time online. This is unique to these generations and those before us don't always know how to relate or engage in this way.
Through streaming cozy games and having active biblical discussions on Twitch and TikTok, I have been seeking to make a positive impact on this generation. This has led to me establishing my video content on YouTube. There I discuss where cultural and biblical thinking differ and desire to help people think biblically, especially about current events.
But how did I get to this point? Was I raised Christian?
Once I was living for myself and was wise by my own estimation. This led to continuing the patterns modeled to me of this world that only ending with destructive living.
Furthermore, I was uncomfortable with accepting evolution and nihilism as a rational way to approach life.
Through reason and research I've come to understand there is logical validity to the truth claims of the Bible that I can not deny. If this sounds wild to you, I respect that, let's talk.
How can my online presence make a difference?
Though faith is a huge part of who I am, I want all to feel welcome with me. When I speak with people I try to listen well, to fully understand them and make sure they feel mutually valued. Even if people disagree with what I am sharing from scripture, I want them to know they were treated well around me. I feel the weight of being an ambassador for Christ, and hope to plant seeds that the Holy Spirit will tend in their hearts.
I plan to share God and gaming on this channel, as well as a godly mom perspective in detailed game reviews. However, at the moment I only have capacity to focus on My Current Event and Equipping the Saints videos, as well as actively interact with the comments to foster gospel centered conversations. Presently I also feel this is where God wants me to focus.
Currently, I am building out my X and YouTube presence to offer videos and commentary that serve and equip people to seek the wisdom and knowledge of God. Often I will graciously challenge practices Christians engage in, asking if it is biblical or profitable. I also typically post encouragements from the word, as well as discussing current events.
There are so many who speak about the idea of God but compromise on the truth of the bible these days. In all I do I intend to remain as close to biblically honest as possible. If that sounds good to you, you're in the right place.
