It takes guts

Aug 27, 2025

Starting out as creators is exciting and nerve-racking in equal measure. There’s the rush of pressing publish, the pride in seeing something you’ve worked on take shape, and the thrill of sharing it with the world. But there’s also the knot in your stomach, the little voice asking if anyone will notice, if it matters, or if it’ll even peek its head above the noise.

Every creator knows these moments. The joy of making something you love, then the hesitation before you show it. The lift when someone connects with your work, and the sting when something doesn’t get quite the reaction you’d hoped for. There are the endless questions about whether you should have done things differently...

And then, the unexpected encouragement from people you don't even know that makes you keep going and believing that you've made the right chioce. That’s been our journey so far with Creative Bubbles By The Randoms.

For us it’s all about creating work that holds real and/or relatable feelings. We try to mix human emotions honestly; joy, sadness, rebellion, resignation, moments of happiness too. The goal, beyond creating, is to share freely something that others can recognise in themselves.

IT TAKES GUTS

OUR JOURNEY

APRIL | GOING LIVE
In April we finally went live. After months of ideas, sketches, rewrites and laughter, our site became real but of course not before lots of hit and miss moments as we built our website and learned that sometimes the simplest of things can become the most challenging on the web. And don’t get us started on website responsiveness.

MAY | IDENTITY AND SELF-DISCOVERY
May brought our first theme, Identity and Self-Discovery. We shared five illustrated poems that circled around who we are and how we’re seen.

  • Here I Am

  • Creativity

  • Le Petit Roi

  • Foolish Brave Girl

  • Trickster (Miss Switchy Kitty)

We also got ourselves some ‘business cards’ with our name and QR code. Super simple but easy to give to anyone interested.

JUNE | A NEW DROP AND OUR FIRST NEWSLETTER
In June we released four new works in three languages, each paired with bold artwork.

  • Black Ice in English

  • Magenta in English

  • Cœur Éclaté in French

  • La Tempesta in Italian

We also refreshed the website and sent out our very first newsletter, Avant Première. It felt like a real milestone and a way to share our work more personally. Our idea was to share our new works with subscribers before publishing to our website. We also set up a kind of suggestion box for people to submit ideas for future works with of course the offer of a credit.

JULY | BEHIND THE SCENES
July was about continuing with small improvements. We spent time making the site easier to navigate and more accessible, the kind of work that doesn’t always show but matters to those who visit. So as well as our main catalogue of works, website visitors can also browse by artwork or poem.

AUGUST | A COLLECTION FOR DIFFERENT SEASONS
This month, while summer stretches wide in the northern hemisphere and winter wraps the southern hemisphere, we’re featuring five works that reflect different moods and colours.

  • Line in the Sand

  • Love Collage

  • Life’s Delight

  • In My Dreaming

  • In Bloom

WHAT’S COMING NEXT

We’re planning our second newsletter in September with four new poems ready to meet the world. We have more works ready but we’re still tweaking things behind the scenes and it feels right to release new works in small chunks.

We're also actively looking into an easy way to share translations for the poems written in languages other than English. It's one of those things, we want the English translations to be as faithful to the originals as possible and that can't happen through an automated translation.

We’re still at the beginning, but that’s what makes this so alive. We’re writing, publishing out thoughts here, on Substack and social media sites too.

To every fellow creator reading this, we know how much courage it takes to share your work. Thank you for being here with us as we find our way. To our supporters, thank you for believing in our work. It means the world.

With gratitude,
Natasha & Rebecca
