For good control of your racket at contact with the ball, you must have decently strong forearm muscles.
The following exercises you can do not only as a warm-up before practice or a match, but to strengthen your forearm muscles as well:
- spin the racquet with both hands on the grip: 20 seconds one way, 20 in the other way, as fast as you can;
- hold the racket by the neck, on edge, and turn it side to side; slowly in the beginning, and faster after 20 seconds;
- squeeze a hand grip a few times, depending on its stiffness;
- squeeze a soft ball, a few times.
