Comfort is the enemy of your growth
The longest I’ve stayed in any job has been four years.
I could commute to work on autopilot. I made lots of friends. I fell into a routine. I knew how to do my job so well that it seemed as if I could do it in my sleep.
Unfortunately, it became clear that I was no longer growing. I was too comfortable. I wasn’t stretching myself, and the role was no longer challenging me.
I knew that I had to embrace fear and charge into the unknown if I was going to advance my career. I had to seek discomfort.
