If I had my way, I'd do everything for everybody for free, forever (and I've tried my best to do so over the years, lol).

But sadly, people need money to survive, and it's becoming increasingly obvious...

Background:

I was talked out of pursuing game development early because "You need to be sort of crazy to enjoy game development," and "Bug testing isn't fun like playing," etc.

Turns out: I actually just enjoy game development and bug testing, lol. I've been tinkering around with custom games in various game engines since I was like 12, and still nothing quite brings me as much joy as creation and seeing people react to it.

Worse background:

Sadly, I also have TERRIBLE hand genetics (and general body genetics, to be honest), meaning I can't work a typical computer-based 9-5, or I'd be doing even more permanent damage to my hands/fingers, spine (sitting/standing long hours), and nerves than I already have (I'm not even old; my genetics just suck). I need breaks due to those physical ailments (sometimes frequently, and for hours), and a typical technical job just doesn't support that.

While earning back even a fraction of what you put into games is largely up to luck, I can't get lucky if I don't put something out there, so here this is:
