I spent years believing life was happening to me. Depressed, struggling, convinced I was a victim of my own circumstances. The work that changed that was learning I was responsible for the life I was living, and that meant I could build a different one.

That same shift is what I now spend my time trying to bring to a group of women in the Luangwa Valley in Zambia.

I've watched women in these villages go from waiting for someone else to rescue them to taking responsibility for their own lives, and watching that ripple out into their families and their community is one of the most fulfilling things I know.
