How it begins

Coffee was discovered accidentally when a goat in Ethiopia noticed that its herd became more energetic after eating the fruits of a coffee tree. This caught the attention of local monks who created a beverage from these fruits to stay alert during long hours of prayers and meditations. Thus, coffee became part of the religious practice in this region.
