update 8/25/2026: Well, we went to vascular for a checkup on the stump wound, and kind of felt we were going to be told the infection was still there, and we were not disappointed. Another round of antibiotics, and a CT scan, and if the infection remains, at all, he will be admitted in or around 2 weeks from now, for a debridement and wound vac placement. For the entire month of July, the love of my life was in the hospital. He lost his right leg, and is now a double amputee. He is strong, and we are working through the changes in our lives. Changes like a hospital bed for him and a cot for me. Less time up and at 'em, and more time working on getting around the house, and back and forth to doctor's appointments. Well, my love has been hospitalized since July 1. Multiple issues, all of which had us worried he would not be home, or home on hospice. After two weeks of battling, he is in rehab.
