For the entire month of July, the love of my life was in the hospital. He lost his right leg, and is now a double amputee. He is strong, and we are working through the changes in our lives.
Changes like a hospital bed for him and a cot for me. Less time up and at 'em, and more time working on getting around the house, and back and forth to doctor's appointments.
He still needs the TAVR, and it is urgently needed, but everything feels like slow motion now because of this newest set back.
I have struggled to maintain the house and getting back and forth to the hospital daily to see him and be with him. We went from, he won't be going home, to he will be going home on hospice, to he is discharged to rehab, and then discharged home. We are thankful for all of that, everything that got him home. The prayers, the hard work, the advocating - everything. Doctors, nurses, and each of you!
Without your help with the 'coffee' cash, I do not think I would have been able to keep my sanity, much less get back and forth, 1.5 hours away, 3 hours round trip, to see him, be with him, and fight for his care. It meant the world to me.
I promise, I will pay it forward to others when the chances arise.
Harry is the strongest man I know, but each of you are my heroes. I am sincerely humbled and grateful for your friendship. I wish you all well. If you ever need anything, reach out. Together is the only way we can get through some things, and I am always an email or phone call away if you need me.
The struggles continue, but I know I have prayers around me to bring me through. I am never too tired or busy to work my ass off for things I need, even when sometimes, it seems too difficult, and I am thankful for the work I have to keep my brain busy.
